Helping solar panels?

Ok Im trying to power my room using solar panels and I realize that I need about 1700 watts to do so, but really only use my mail at night. I wondered if I could buy say a 200 watt solar panel and charge a battery is left around the day would that work? I live in Southern California, so do not have to worry much about clouds of days. Also, any suggestion on where to buy a panel, inverter, charge controller, and battery?

What you really need is to calculate its energy needs, only tells your needs power. Power (W) = how many watts of energy use? Time (h) = how long you will use the power? Energy requirement (kWh) = W * h have the answer to that equation and plugging it into the same equation except for exact amount of sunlight you get per hour, and then calculate W to find what you need in the path of a solar panel. solar panel power (W) = Energy requirement (kWh) per hour of sunlight per day (h) Now you know what power the solar panel you need. For battery uses a different equation: energy in the battery (Wh) = Battery voltage (V) * Current capacity (Ah) capacity solution Current: Ah = Wh / V This will tell how big a battery you need, but it must also be concerned about the actual amount that can source. For this you need know what their peak power needs. Wmax = maximum peak power requirement of unloading (Amax) = Wmax / Vmax also need an inverter rated for Wmax too.
