What practice is to use natural gas in large towers on the road?
T Boone Pickens has been pushing to have new large trucks for run on natural gas instead of diesel. To make people buy, who wants the government to offer a refund of $ 60,000. Is this practice and that the gas natural, even be available at truck stops?
Practice? IMO, the answer is no. Natural gas (methane) currently can not be stored in liquid form, so it must be compressed to several thousand PSI in place. Even at this pressure is not nearly as energy dense as propane LPG (and / or butane), and much less so the diesel tank had to be huge to carry enough fuel. I can only imagine a tractor in the bed compartment everything has been replaced by a huge tank of CNG in magazines.
