A state of art gym and dance studio, café-bar facilities and contemporary style dining are just some of the features of the new global headquarters of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
InterContinental Hotels Group has moved from Windsor to a new site covering 100,000 square feet in Broadwater Park – former home of the Denham Film Studios – in Buckinghamshire.
Morgan Lovell's office design and construction of the project, which includes consultation, mechanical and electrical works, arming, and furniture.
Situated in 13 acres of land, open space plan is in a building four plants. Taking advantage of the picturesque surroundings, a patio area with complete coverage of broadband allows people to work outdoors.
The restaurant is an important showcase office development based on the quality of the Crowne Plaza brand. A 20-Suites meeting room has also been created.
Other features include sample rooms fully functional, relevant to the hotel chain InterContinental Hotels Group operates, such as Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites. These Rooms have a double purpose, providing both a showcase facility for visitors and also provide accommodation for visiting staff when necessary IHG.
A Green Room has also been developed, where new products and accessories are tested before being deployed in the seven hotel brands InterContinental Hotels Group operates.
The gym includes a well-equipped gym with the latest machinery and a dance studio with full length mirror whole and sound system.
Tom Lord, project manager for the development of IHG, said: "We set out to provide an inspiring office space – InterContinental Hotels Group which supports the delivery of "Great Hotels persons of Love." The key to our success was the involvement with the 360 employees working here to help us achieve this.
The building also had to be as sustainable as possible and demonstrate best practices, serving as a benchmark for our hotels and other offices. Our work in Denham now influence the future output adjustment InterContinental Hotels Group and the ideas of this project is introduced in our development of Singapore.
Fundamentally, InterContinental Hotels Group and Morgan Lovell worked together as a team to deliver the project on time and on budget.

South of Morgan Lovell team, based in the Thames Valley in Wokingham, managed the project. InterContinental Hotels Group has been able to use the experience of Morgan Lovell Office for carbon neutral green outfit that includes a complete set of product specifications – based on restrictions on the travel distances of the original materials – and the selection of those materials containing high recycled and recyclable.
In particular, IHG wanted to illustrate the benefits of solar power – and the panels are in place to contribute to the management of the landscape and lighting of parking. Solar blinds have also been introduced, controlled by a "weather station" on the roof.
