We call this paradise and the "No Ka Oi" (the best), but behind Maui's beaches and tropical waterfalls, is a tale pollution energy production until the day that exaggerates the unhealthy and wasteful ways of the industrial past of our country. If the same formula used Kahe wind holds for this would produce 12% of Maui's total peak requirements and 40% during peak hours. In May 2008 Rob Parsons reported weekly time on Maui ShellWindEnergy had dropped its plans to produce only 20 megawatts, is considering the possibility of battery storage to avoid the fluctuation of input network of islands and is in the process of preparing environmental impact statements (EIS) required to move forward.

An Australian company called Oceanlinx is moving in a project to harness a mere 2.7 megawatts of energy by installing generators floating on the coast north.
