Being in the solar energy business, we see lots of new and exciting products long before they reach store shelves. One of the most interesting products we've seen this years out of college in the UK. He has been called the "Sun Trap", and is attracting a lot of enthusiasm in the world press. Not exactly a revolutionary idea, but it is certainly an innovative use of existing technology. It is a handbag designed with photovoltaic material as an exterior, while inside the bag is full of electroluminescent material. When the bag is opened, the interior lights up! It is powered by a small battery is charged continuously by the sun throughout the day. No more searching for the keys in the night!
Another fine product is very handy for us is the solar panel for notebook computers. This a very useful tool for people who spend time outdoors. We've all had situations where we are far from a wall outlet and the laptop dies. Is not this the worst? Well, this product has the potential to solve that problem … whenever a light source available. My plan is to take mine on my camping trip next!
There are also some impressive new products designed for use in your yard or garden. I am especially interested in some of the lighting systems large garden which was released recently. These are basically small lights used to illuminate garden paths and walkways. They are charged throughout the day by the sun, and stays on, so all night. Rodent repellents are also new solar powered they are an excellent alternative to the use of products chemicals or traps for rodents from your garden.
These are just some of the exciting products they have seen the light of day. Engineers and inventors around the world are working to develop some wonderful new products. It is very rewarding to see that people are devoting time and effort on sustainable development energy applications. It's just a matter of time before all energy products are designed with the interests of sustainability in mind.
