solar energy future 2009

With zero emissions, solar cars present a sunny solution to buyers of eco-friendly cars. It makes sense to develop a green car technology that does not require a complicated infrastructure or any type of fueling station. What could be easier to use an existing energy source, like the sun, right? After all, was around since the beginning of the solar system, long before fossil fuels. If only it were that simple, it is likely already have. Although universities and companies build solar cars each year for the past 20 years for the annual Australian World Solar Challenge race solar car, we're not quite there yet.
How they work?
A solar car is actually an energy-powered electric vehicle solar. Photovoltaic (PV) cells as solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. The process generates heat which is converted to electrical energy and stored in a database onboard battery. The battery serves the same basic function as a gas tank in an internal combustion car.
Despite the enormous generosity of the sun there for the taking, the solar car technology is difficult to achieve. The source of solar power requires a large amount of photovoltaic cells, which are expensive, and the level of efficiency of PVs is estimated that only 10% to 15%. These are the daunting challenges facing the engineers, and most likely is a hybrid site with another source of fuel is the only viable option in the near future, but the concept is quite interesting to engineers within and outside universities to take a pure solar car prototype at a more advanced stage of development.
Are solar cars around?
French manufacturer Venturi says Astrolab your solar electric hybrid concept car gives a better efficiency of the photovoltaic cell level of 21%. Not exactly a family car with his 2-tandem seating configuration of the cabin, but a possibility. Hungarian Antro The manufacturer has designed a solar electric hybrid gas other wise known as Tribrid scheduled for production in 2012, and Tesla Motors has an electric car can be recharged with solar energy with 2009 models available in the U.S. and Europe. These are just the first advances in solar car technology. As time passes more and more manufacturers are developing and incorporating some form of technology solar propulsion systems already in existence. This will create a new type of hybrid, disconnected from fossil fuels, but are still not totally dependent energy of the Sun
Perhaps with the recent cells photvoltaic high intensity designed by a company in Israel, many of the problems energy efficiency will be served. It is not clear however if it can be designed for cars.
Conclusion
Solar energy solar and more specifically the cars would be amazing progress in future car technology. They allow almost unlimited free travel and accessibility. The Time will tell if all the problems associated with the use of energy sources the world's oldest can be treated. If the barriers can happen next to ensure solar cars will be the wave of the future.
