Report on renewable solar landscape at the threshold
solar energy is the most abundant source of energy available globally, however, its large scale implementation has progressed only very slowly. Despite the prospects of depression in 2009, solar energy promises significant medium and long opportunity long-term growth. However, until demand real attraction can be created, the industry remains at the mercy of government programs that artificially drive demand encouraged. Scope of this research
* Ten years worth of annual data on world energy production, both for conventional and all major renewable technologies.
* Accumulated Global and new data from the annual installed capacity of solar energy since 1998 and a breakdown of the ten largest markets through both parameters.
* Summary of data on production costs in photovoltaics costs plant, solar energy generation costs of electricity and the main mechanisms of direct and indirect subsidies.
* A SWOT analysis, an overview Spanish market in war of 2009 the estimated market growth of solar and a revision of growth expectations for 2013.
Research and analysis highlights
2008 was a banner year for the PV market, driven by political will and strong subsidies, mainly in Spain and Germany. However, a change in the Spanish solar subsidy is now threatening the development of an entire sector. At best, the growth of solar energy market photovoltaics in 2009 will fall back to 2001 levels in the lowest register of the last decade. There are nine major EU-sponsored mechanisms that promote development of solar energy by means other than direct subsidy, however, the feeding of direct subsidy in tariff is the most powerful mechanism to rapidly grow the grid connected solar energy markets. On stage in the best way possible, however, solar is still a couple of years outside the actual grid parity. Solar energy is one of only three ways to achieve the ambitions of climate change 20-20-20 EU. Solar also has a role to play in meeting future increases in energy demand in all EU Member States. Ultimately, growth levels are expected to pick in 2010, however, the goal of industry, 12% of final demand of EU electricity by 2020 is unlikely to be met.
The main reasons for buying this research
* Determine quickly and assimilate the most critical events and issues that characterize the global solar market today and in the coming years.
* Benchmark the relative appeal of solar energy against other types of renewable and conventional generation energy.
Global growth * Understand how to be affected by technology maturity, policy incentives and investor appetite, and far its strategy accordingly.
