Where can I obtain information on the plastic sheet like materials that act as photovoltaic cells for converting light into energy?

I want to install photovoltaic cells to produce electircity for domestic use. I think there is a new plastic material that converts light energy electricity for domestic use of this material may be used as a plate to cover the roof around the house to make use of light falling on the roof. Where can I get this PV type of light plastic material and what it will please advice Thanks
