At present, we can feel the presence of a disaster, but we have enough information to feel that we can participate. My impetus for adopting renewable energy is based on our continued polluting the environment with the burning of fossil fuels. We know we must stop this pollution, so our quality of life will not be severely degraded. It is time to stop ignore 1.2 billion elephants in the room. It is time to implement a plan to take renewables into a step to stabilize the atmosphere of CO2 pollution, and then hopefully start reducing the amount of pollution that should flow from this plan with an eye to the duration of our fossil fuel reserves will last. Once you emerge from this plan we can look to future generations and inform them, "Here's the plan."
The development of modern civilization has depended on both the availability and advancement of energy. We must demand that our local leaders and national production of action plans renewable energy. There are pockets of leadership, such as Arizona and California. This leadership must be nationwide to be successful in the U.S.. Once this is achieved we will be well on our way for the generations future.
