Time post-menopause is the time to live the most vital aspects of sex. After "made" the sexual revolution of the 1960s not enough. The real and genuine sexual revolution – the end of the release, sacred sexuality is a genuine feminine consciousness.
Menopause to be the sex death bad, sad, and compliant – but not the death of sex. In essence, the look of a lover is separated of the mother and the maiden – and severely condemned. Indeed the appearance of a lover is the priestess of love – eros serving. She is ecstatic and transcendent in nature. The archetypal lover was and should be part of our lives untouched, our mother / wife, life, and our old life. (Holy) sexuality pervades all aspects of the life cycle.
Definition of the Virgin for her hymen intact is a patriarchal concept, a limited and literal understanding of virginity. Metaphorically and psychologically, the Virgin is the autonomous part of the psyche of a woman, not the car intrinsic property it needs, or requiring the validation of a man. She could be sexual — or not.
(In the matter of "losing virginity" is the wonderful story in the novel Red tent, where the older women gently pierce the hymen in the first period with one of those little statues of the Goddess. In essence, the physical penetration of the initial child of menstruation is an initiation by the goddess – not a male rape with blood on the blade in the test barbarism of possession.)
Patriarchy has to wrest control of the life cycle of the Goddess. Life and death were fairly straightforward, but to send the procreation, the mother / wife had to be owned in marriage and sexuality was to be strictly confined there. The image of mother, even to be reconfigured every time the care and modest – refused sexual and destructive sides.
For the serious distortion, then, Lady and the phases of the Mother of the ancient goddess could be assimilated to Christianity. But, the Crone absolutely could not, the word itself is derived from the crown of speech, and indicates the power loss of the queens of old. The old woman was wise, mysterious, independent – and feared. Too much like the male aspect of God! But in the West, paralyzed our Crone, leaving only images of ugly witches, evil stepmothers, and harmless old ladies. A wise and wonderful (and sexual) Crone has been absent from our culture and our consciousness for so long. Without it, distort our life choices – and the grim old age.
