SAN JOSE, CA – (Marketwire – November 20, 2009) – Nobel laureate and former Vice President Al Gore today received 2009, James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian awarded by The Tech Museum As part of its international program, the Tech Awards

Presented by Applied Materials, Tech Awards celebrates the power of technology to meet the challenges global environment, economic development, education, equality and health. The Global Humanitarian Award, also sponsored by Applied Materials, honors individuals whose broad vision and leadership to help build a just, humane and sustainable. The award was inspired by the belief of the company President Emeritus James Morgan, the technology can be a tool to turn ideas into solutions for a better world. Gore was chosen for its international work on environmental issues – in particular, to raise awareness global climate change.
