I'm looking into solar powered attic fans, gable roof and suggestions from fans that you know works well? I have watched a few, but I'm worried about being able to point the solar panels toward the sun, with the thermostat set out therein, and if worth the money
The easiest would be to install a gable vent. Remove the existing ventilation to install the new, perhaps cut to look good. Keep the vertical Solor panel, this will keep the snow and road grime out of it. Do not worry about directing. Most panels need sunlight, not direct sunlight. I would not use the thermostat function. It is not so great the need to ventilate the attic during the cold season it is during the warm season. The gable mount fans have long cables that let you put the fan in the gable, then mount the panel where they have enough sun or stay out of sight.
