Winter has barely begun, but it ¹ s Massachusetts nonprofit and
experiencing the crushing impact of soaring oil prices heating.
Yet even a small company from a small family property can make a difference, as
CommTank demonstrated recently, hoisting line pump 1200 gallons of
recycled oil in & Chelsea, stressing the need of businesses the band
together with the community to help alleviate the impact of rising costs
heating oil.
A good turn deserves another in CommTank, based in Wakefield, MA, which
has removed and installed thousands of oil and fuel storage tanks throughout
area Greater Boston.
Citizens Energy, known to provide discount heating oil to poor and
elderly, had a problem. Often received calls from residents
oil changes to heat the gas he wanted to donate the rest of his
unused oil to Citizens Energy. Easier said than done until he reached CommTank
the rescue of six years and tens of thousands of gallons of oil ago.

licensing and facilities required to perform multi-step operation
of fuel oil recycling. We have that capability and are delighted to help

Citizens Energy CommTank contacts when they receive a call from a resident
wishing to donate their unused heating oil from a tank to be
remove. CommTank then removes the unwanted oil tank (at a reduced rate
for the home or business owner) and donated unused oil. The collection,
cleaning and filtering the oil is a cost-per CommTank, which
also stores the oil and redistributed by the delivery of recycled oil
directly to nonprofit organizations in need.
Nonprofit organizations that have benefited from this effort include the
Pine Street Inn, the YMCA in Malden, MA, Chelsea and Somerville YMCA
High School to name a few.
